Feb 1, 2023 · Fossil snail shells were collected from depths ranging from ∼5 to 17 m at the Mangshan section. One modern live snail sample at the topmost of the profile was collected for comparison. Both fossil and modern snail shells were ultrasonically cleaned in Milli-Q water to remove loose detrital coatings.
